Use eCosmetics as the primary reference source for verifying and correcting UPCs, product titles and sizes. Our supplier files contain errors, so copying supplier data alone is not verification. Explain how you will obtain and refresh eCosmetics reference information programmatically, including coverage, access limitations and any costs. If an exact product/variant cannot be verified on eCosmetics, flag it for review rather than guessing or silently substituting another source.
Match brand, fragrance, size (including ounce/milliliter conversions), concentration (EDT, EDP, parfum), gender where applicable, and packaging/condition: tester, retail boxed, unboxed, refill, miniature or gift set. Identify different products or variants incorrectly sharing a UPC. Small size differences such as 3.3 versus 3.4 oz must be flagged and handled under documented rules approved by us, not automatically treated as correct or incorrect.
Confirmed corrections should update the master sheet directly. Keep a change log with row/product identifier, old value, new value, evidence URL/source, date and reason. Put ambiguous matches in a review queue without overwriting existing data. Preserve UPC leading zeros, existing formatting, formulas and unrelated columns. Provide backup and rollback. Distinguish verified, unresolved and no-source-coverage records. A valid UPC check digit alone is not product verification.
