Outside the remote session you’ll handle routine email correspondence on my behalf, upload smaller files through web portals, and tidy up photos—mainly cropping, resizing, or slight touch-ups in Adobe Photoshop (or an equivalent tool you already know).

Your task is to study the sample strings I will supply, work out how each character or bit maps to those fields, and deliver a compact Python solution that can both decode existing barcodes and build new, machine-acceptable ones.
What I expect
• A short write-up (markdown or PDF) explaining the data structure you uncovered and any maths or look-up tables involved.
• A well-commented Python module that exposes:
– decode(raw_string) → {lot, volume, expiry}
– encode(lot, volume, expiry) → raw_string
The encode routine must calculate whatever checksum or padding the analyzer demands.
• Simple unit tests that show:
– Correct field extraction from all samples I provide.
